Introduction

Rain Ready Ottawa is a City of Ottawa program that helps residents manage rainwater on their properties.

These self-guided courses are an exciting opportunity for you to learn more about rainwater management techniques that can be put into practice around your home. Courses are free, bilingual and open to all residents of Ottawa.

The four courses being offered are:

  1. Stormwater Introduction and Rain Ready Ottawa Overview
  2. Downspout Redirection
  3. Rain Garden Installation
  4. Soakaway Pits and Trenches

If you live in a stormwater retrofit priority area, the completion of these courses will allow you to become eligible for up to $5,000 in Rain Ready Ottawa rebates without getting a home assessment or need to use a Fusion landscape Professional.

Specifically, these courses will make you eligible for the following rebates: Downspout Redirection, Rain Gardens, and Soakaway pit rebates. As a course participant, you will need to remember to download and save your completion certificates, as you will need these to prove eligibility.

Taking these courses will not make you eligible for permeable pavement or certified Fusion Landscape Professional (FLP) design rebates.

Getting Started

How to sign up and add courses

  1. Select “sign up” from the options at the top of the screen.
  2. Fill out the required information.
  3. You will receive an email confirming your registration, following this, you will have access to the courses.
  4. After logging in for the first time, you will be taken to the eLearning landing page.
  5. To add courses to your leaning profile, navigate to the course catalogue.
  6. From there, you will see the four Rain Ready Ottawa learning courses available.
  7. To enroll, select the course you want to start and select “enroll”.
  8. Happy learning!
